The company is joining the FDNY and York City Department of Fire/Rescue in mourning the passing of 3 members;
The Fire Department of New York is mourning the passing of Firefighter Michael R. Davidson 37 of Engine 69. Firefighter Davidson was killed while battling a 5 Alarm fire in Manhattan while his company was operating in the basement of a structure and he became lost from the rest of his company. Firefighter Davidson was a highly decorated 15 year veteran of the FDNY and leaves behind a wife and 4 children.
The York City Department of Fire/Rescue is mourning the passing of Firefighters Ivan Flanscha of Engine 99-1 B Platoon and Firefighter Zachary Anthony 29 of Engine 99-1 D Platoon. Both Firefighters Flanscha and Anthony were killed while operating at the scene of a previous day 5 Alarm fire in the City of York. Both were operating on the 4 floor with other crews searching for Hot Spots when the building collapsed killing both of them and injuying several others. Firefighter Flanscha joined the department in 1999 and leaves behind a wife and 5 kids. Firefighter Anthony joined the deprtment in 2010 and leaves behind a wife.
