Thursday, March 14, 2019

The officers and members of the Clayton Fire Company are sending their thoughts and prayers to Captain Dave Smiley Jr after he was seriously burned while battling a house fire on Thursday morning in the Mill Creek area.  Capt. Smiley was searching the second floor when he fell partially through the floor and became trapped.  He was removed by firefighters who responded to a MAYDAY call put out for him.  He was transported to CER where he was later Transfered to the Crozier Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania.  The fire went to 2 alarms before it was brought under control.  The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating.  We ask that you please keep Capt Smiley, his friends and family and the Minquas Fire Company in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers.
