EARLY MORNING COMBINE FIRE

Saturday morning at 4:31am the station was dispatched for the combine on fire at the of Providence Creek Academy at 267 W. Duck Creek Road.  Access to the field where the combine was located was a little bit of a challenge as it was up a long lane and over a narrow wooden bridge.  Command 45 w/Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap arrived to find a combine in the field well involved.  He was follwed by Engines 45-2 w/5, Captain Austin Moorhead and 45-3 w/4, Past Chief Robert Davis.  The crew from 45-2 stretched line and made quick work of the fire.  Both crews worked to overhaul the combine and were on scene for about 45 minutes.  Pictures courtesy Amber Johnson and Alex Carrow.  Units responding; Command 45, Engines 45-2, 45-3, Sta 45 Fire  Police.
