Saturday March 11 the company was able to take part on sending off and welcoming home the eventual State of Delaware Boys Basketball State Champions. The basketball team lead by Coach Andrew Mears soared over Caravel Academy by a score of 61-53 at The Bob on the campus of the Universality of Delaware in Newark. It was the first state championship in basketball in the history of Smyrna High School and joins the football team which won their state championship back in December. Like the football team the basketball team was lead out of town and back into town by the Smyrna and Clayton Fire Companies and Smyrna and Clayton Police Departments along with loads of families and friends.
