ENGINE AND LADDER GO TO SMYRNA FOR HOUSE FIRE

Thursday afternoon April 6th @ 1:51pm with a severe thunderstorm going through the area Station 44, Ladder and Engine 45, Ambulance 64 and KM6 were dispatched for the residential structure fire at 26 Foxtrail Rd in the Hickory Hollow development in Smyrna.  Quint 45 w/5, with Deputy Chief Alex Carrow quickly responded followed by Engine 45-3, w/6, Captain John Pridemore.  Ambulance 64 arrived ahead of the fire units and reported fire showing on the Delta side of the residence.  Quint 45 and Engine 44-2 arrived with their crews securing a water supply and placing 2 hand lines in service.  Interior crews found heavy smoke conditions in the basement area located and extinguished fire in the basement.  The remaining crews performed searches and assisted with overhaul.  The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating.  Captain Easley Peirson Jr. had the command.  Units responding.  Engines 44-2, 44-3, 45-3, Ladder 44, Quint 45, Rescue 45, B-64, KM6, FM19 (Billings), SPD.  Photo’s courtesy Mike Carroll Sta 45.
