ENGINE GOES TO SMYRNA FOR RESIDENTAL STRUCTURE FIRE

Friday morning at 0219 the station was dispatched for the engine to assist Station 44 with a working residential structure fire.  Smyrna units along with local EMS units were alerted at 01:49 and arrived to find a 2 story multi family dwelling with heavy fire showing on the Delta Side.  Engine 45-3 w/6 Chief Wes Davis arrived to find Smyrna units with 2 lines in service and the visible fire knocked down.  The crew from 45-3 assisted with overhaul and was on scene for just over an hour.  Captain Eric Neeld (44-19) had the Lincoln Street Command.   Engine 45-3 was back in quarters at 0335.  The fire appears to be suspicious and is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.  Units responding Engines 44-2, 44-3, 44-4, 45-3, Ladder 44, Rescue 44, C-64, KM6, FM13 (Schad), Smyrna PD, Smyrna Electric.  Photos courtesy of Curt Grubar Sta 44.
