Each year the Clayton Fire Company presents a $1,000 scholarship to a firefighter or the child of a Clayton Fire Company member. This year’s winner is Morgan Burnett, the daughter of Clayton Firefighter Lt. Jonathan Burnett. Morgan a senior at Smyrna High has been accepted into the nursing program at Del Tech Terry Campus. The scholarship was named in honor of Linda Lightcap who died suddenly several years ago. Linda was a member of the Clayton Ladies Aux, her husband Robert is a past president of the company and her son Robert J. Lightcap is a past chief of the fire company.
