LADDER AND ENGINE GO TO SMYRNA FOR FIRE AT WALMART DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Tuesday evening just before dinner at 5:14pm Quint 45 was dispatched as part of the 1st alarm assignment for a high life hazard structure fire at the Walmart Distribution Center at 100 Walton Way.  Quint 45 w/4, Captain Alex Carrow arrived with Engine 44-2.  Crews were finally directed by plant personnel to a compressor room on the east side of the building.   The fire had been knocked down by plant personnel using several portable extinguishers.  The crew from 44-2 completed extinguishment while other crews checked for extension and assisted with overhaul.   Also making the response was Ladder 44, Rescue 44 and Engines 44-3 and 45-3 w/6, Lt.
