Saturday afternoon at 3:55 the station along with Tanker company 26 were dispatched for the residential structure fire at 2103 Harvey Straughn Road. Command 45 w/ Assistant Chief Robbie Johnson arrived to find a 2 story residence and established command. Engine 45-4 w/6, Captain Alex Carrow arrived behind the chief, secured a water supply and stretched the line. Quint 45 w/6, Crew Leader Jack Davis arrived behind the engine with the crew going to work with the primary search and throwing ground ladders. Interior crews located a chimney fire with extension to the wall behind the stove. Engine crews quickly opened up and knocked down fire in the wall. Tanker 26 w/Capt. Gilchrist and Rescue 45 w/4, Firefighter Carl Troubetaris Sr. arrived the tanker picked up the supply line to 45-4 and crews from both units assisted with checking for further extension and assisting with overhaul. Damage was confined to wall behind the stove and around the chimney. The State Fire Marshal responded and investigated. Clayton had 31 members respond on the call.
