Saturday afternoon several members of the company joined thousands of other firefighters from across the region and united states in honoring the lives for WFD Lt. Christopher Leach and Sr. Firefighter Jerry Fickes who were killing while fighting a row house fire the weekend before. During the service several friends remembers Lt. Leach and FF Fickes. During the service Lt. Leach was promoted to the rank of Captain while FF Fickes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and award medals of valor. Vice President Biden was also in attendance and spoke at the event. Over 2,000 people attended the Memorial Service held at the Chase Center on the Riverfront.
