Saturday, November 26, 2016

Ruthleen W. Ogden, of Clayton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday November 26, 2015. She was 85. She was born August 24, 1930 in Berlin, MD, the daughter of the late John W. and Bertha A. West. She retired after many years of service as a CNA at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. She had also been a caregiver to many in the Smyrna-Clayton communities for many years. Mrs. Ogden was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clayton Fire Company, and enjoyed going to the beach. The most important thing in her life was her grandchildren and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William T. Ogden; nine brothers; and one sister. She is survived by five sons, William R. (Sharon) Ogden; Gary T. Ogden; Donald W. (Dawn); Barry Ogden; Brooks (Debbie) Ogden; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna (Walt) Dennis. She is also survived by her ‘adopted’ children: Karen Gebhart; Timothy Wilhoit; and Kevin Wall. The Officers and members of the Clayton Fire Company Auxiliary send our thoughts and prayers to Ruthleen's family and friends. She was a wonderful person and she will truly be missed.
