COMPANY JOINS CITIZENS HOSE COMPANY IN REMEMBERING THE 35 ANNIVERSARY OF THE PASSING OF Firefighter H. THOMAS TUCKER FROM STA 44
Friday, August 25, 2017

The Clayton Fire Company is joining our brothers and sisters from the Citizens Hose Company of Smyrna in remembering the LODD of Firefighter H. Thomas Tucker on the 35th Anniversary of his death.  Firefighter Tucker was riding in the jump seat of an engine from Smyrna, on August 22, 1982, enroute to an alarm when he lost his grip and fell from the truck striking his head.  He succumbed to his injuries 4 days later.  He was laid to rest with full fireman funeral on August 28, 1982.  His funeral was attended to by firefighters from all over Delaware and from Maryland.  This is the only LODD that the Citizens Hose Company has ever had in their over 130 year history.  The flags at our station will be flown at half staff from Friday August 25 until Monday morning August 28, 2017 to remember the 35th Anniversary of his death and honor his service to the community.  We ask that you please take a moment to remember Tommy.  Photo's courtesy Gene Tucker.
