Sunday, August 27, 2017

Over this past weekend the company was requested to assist with the Thunder over Dover Air Show at DAFB.  The event was opened to the public and was expected to attract 200,000 people.  On Saturday and Sunday EMS Gator 45 was assigned positions along the flight line to assist in the event of any injuries.  This was the first events for the new EMS Gator.  The Gator was staffed on Saturday by EMT Joel Tallhammer and EMS Officer Leslie Pope, on Sunday it was staffed by Firefighter Noah Williams and EMS Officer Pope again.  On Sunday Engine 45-3 w/6, Deputy Chief Alex Carrow covered Dover Fire Dept Station 1 while they had units assigned to the event at DAFB.  The engine stood by from 7am until 5pm.  While there the engine responded to assist Camden-Wyoming on a reported church fire but was cancelled enroute.  Photo's courtesy Alex Carrow, Leslie Pope and Noah Williams.
