The emergency service in Kent County especially the Dover area are mourning the passing of Dover Police Department Cpl. Thomas Gannon who died on todays date as the result of injuries that occurred in the Line of Duty. Cpl Hannon suffered a leg injury in 2012 while on duty that resulted in complications and his death. Cpl. Hannon was a 12 year veteran of the Dover Police Department and received several awards during his career including; 2006 Officer of the Quarter, a DUI enforcement award, a 2008 life saving award when he helped save a women who had stopped breathing and 2009 when he rescued a handicapped women from a burning residence.
