NATIONAL FALLEN FIREFIGHERS MEMORIAL WEEKEND

The Nations Fire Service is remembering those members who were killed in the line of duty over the last year this weekend at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg Md.  The annual event brings firefighters and the families of those killed in the line of duty for a weekend of remembrance.  This year is a even more sad event as the Delaware Fire Service remembers 4 of its own from the last year.  This year Firefighters Tim McClanahan of Lewes Fire Dept., Capt. Chris Leach, Lt. Jerry Fickes Jr. and Lt. Ardythe Hope of the Wilmington fire Dept. are remember after dying in the Line of Duty.  Firefighter McClanahan fell from a helicopter during a training exercise while Capt. Leach, Lt. Fickes & Lt. Hope were killed in a Wilmington rowhouse fire.  What has become an annual tradition the our company we have placed a wreath on our memorial in front of the station to honor those that were killed in the line of duty.  we ask that you please take a moment to remember those who died trying to protect their communities.
