GAS LEAK SMYRNA

Saturday afternoon the station was dispatched to assist Station 44 on a gas leak outside.  Quint 45 w/5, Firefighter Frank Sacco IV, Engine 45-3 w/6, Firefighter Mike Thompson and Engine 45-4 w/5, Past Chief Jeff Lightcap responded.  Quint 45 staged with Engine 44-2 while both engines staged with Engine 44-3 and Rescue 45.  The leak was from a high pressure gas line along Brenford Rd.  Chesapeake Utilities had been on scene for awhile prior to the fire department responding and was attempting to secure the leak.  The leak was secured after about 30 minutes.  Lt. Robbie Daniels (44-23) had the Command.  Units responding Engines 44-2, 44-3, 45-3, 45-4, Rescue 44, Quint 45, Sta 44 & 45 Fire Police and Chesapeake utilities.  Photo's courtesy Jerry Hull.
