The company is joining the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clayton Fire Company in mourning the passing of Life Member Bertha Hudson. Mrs. Hudson was a 43 year Life Member of the auxiliary, she received its Lifetime Service Award in 2013 and the Kent County ladies Auxiliary Member of the year in 2014. Bertha was married to Clayton Fire Company Past President J Wallace Hudson for 68 years. She was also active in the community including being very active in her local church Bertha worked for over 20 years for the Smyrna School District at the Clayton Elementary School. Mrs. Hudson was survived by her husband Wally. Three sons Stephan (Louise), Barry (Sherri) and Mark (Marian). Two Grandchildren Christoper Hudson (Jessica) and Amanda H, Schulze (Charles). Four Great Grandchildren Grayson amd Gavin Hudson and Nora & Lila Schulze and a sister and her husband Jane H Schwartz (Frederick). A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 12 noon at the Ewell's St. Paul UMC corner of Clayton Ave and West St Friends may visit 2 hours prior. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ewell's St. Paul Church P.O. Box 466 Clayton De 19938, the Clayton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary at P.O. box 1050 Clayton De 19938 or the Delaware Hospice Center 100 Patriots Way Milford de 19963.
