VOLUNTEERS HAVE A BUSY SUNDAY
Sunday, February 25, 2018

The volunteers of Clayton had a fairly active Sunday.  The day began with an assist to Townsend on a residential structure fire in the 1000 block of Dexter's Corner Road at 8:06am.  Quint 45 w/4 Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap arrived to find Townsend units on scene with a line stretched on a small bedroom fire.  Quint 45 staged on scene for a few minutes before being released.  Engine 45-3 w/, Capt Jonathan Burnett also responded.  Upon returning members attended the companies year CPR/AED recert at the station that started at 9am and ran until noon.  During the recert class the station was dispatched at 9:44am for the electrical hazard for a power line down on Underwoods Corner Rd & Hopewell Dr.  The engine arrived to find a telephone wire hanging low and secured it.  Finally at 9:13pm the station was dispatched for the assist to Smyrna on the residential AFA at 22 Split Rail Rd.  Quint 45 w/5, Capt Jack Davis and Engine 45-3 w/7, Chief Wes Davis both responded but were canceled prior to arrival.   Photo's courtesy Mike Carroll.
