SNOW AND ICE EQUALS BUSY DAY FOR VOLUNTEERS OF CLAYTON
Thursday, March 22, 2018

A storm that started out as freezing rain and ended with heavy wet snow equaled a very busy day for the volunteers at Clayton.  The station started being staffed with 2 crews starting at 9 am on Wednesday March 21 and stayed staffed until about 2 am on March 22nd.  In a 12 hour period from noon on the 21st until midnight the station responded to about 30 calls that ranged from a Box Alarm in Odessa, 2 Coverups, several structures with trees that had fallen into them and numerous tree and wires down.  During the 2 day period the station responded to just over 40 calls.   Several roads in our first due area were completely closed to any traffic because of trees and wires across them and stay that way until Thursday evening.  The officers would like to thank those members that responded to and helped staff the station during this time.  Photos courtesy several sources.
