EASTER SUNDAY RESIDENTAL STRUCTURE FIRE

Easter morning at 06:52 the box was dispatched for the residential structure fire bringing Station 45, Engine & Rescue Sta 44, Ladder 46 (replacing L-44), Sta 51 for the RIT, Ambulance 64 and KM6.    Engine 45-3 w/6, Capt. Austin Moorhead arrived to find a 1 story single family home with smoke coming from the basement area on the B-side.  The crew stretched the  hand line and secured a water supply from a hydrant by the residence.  Quint 45 w/6, Chief Wes Davis and Engine 45-4 w/5, Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap arrived behind 45-3, the crew from the Quint handled the searches while the crew from the second engine stretched the second line.  Rescue 45 w/5 Assistant Chief John Pridemore and additional units arrived and handled various assignments.  The crew from 45-3 found heavy smoke in the basement and located and extinquished a small fire also in the basement.  The State Fire Marshals Office is investgating.  Chief Wes Davis had the Command.  Kent County Md Engine 2 covered the district while units were on scene.  Units responding; Command 45, Engines 45-3, 45-4, 44-3, 51-3, 46-3, Quint 45, Ladder 46-1, Rescue 45, Rescue 44, B-64, KM6, FM20.  Pictures courtesy Joe Jones.
