Today the Quint was invited to help Smyrna Fire Co. with the American Flag Display at Rommels Harley Davidson Store in the Gateway North Shopping Center. Assistant Chief Jeff Lightcap with 5 firefighters took part with the display along with Smyrna Retired Engine 44-4 which is a 1978 Hahn Pumper which saw service from 1978-2006. The unit was recently purchased by several members and donated back to the company. The Ride to the Tide event had over 1000 motorcycles take part. This was just one of several things going on for the volunteers at Clayton today; this morning prior to the Ride to the Tide event, Assistant Chief Lightcap and several newer members worked on ground ladder evolutions, while the ladder was at Smyrna an engine crew completed several subscribed burnings in the district and then after the Ride to the Tide the company hosted a "Kids Birthday Party" at the firehouse.
