Monday afternoon just after lunch at 12:09 the station was dispatched for the Outside Fire in the 600 Block of Oak Hill School Road. Command 45 w/Deputy Chief Alex Carrow, Brush 45 w/3 Captain Jonathon Burnett and Engine 45-3 w/3, Firefighter Josh Klingler made the response. Command 45 arrived to find a large brush pile on fire that had extended into a wooded area. Chief Carrow established Command and requested an Field Piece and Engine from Station 26 Townsend and the additional engine out of the station. Engine 45-2 w/3, Firefighter Dave Ross, Brush 26-1 and Tanker 26 made the response. Brush 45 and 26-1 worked to control the woods fire while the engine crews assisted with a water supply and helped with overhaul. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes and units stayed on scene for an additional 30 minutes wetting the area down.
