BOTH ENGINES AND BRUSH TRUCK GO TO TOWNSEND FOR LARGE OUTSIDE FIRE

Monday afternoon at 2:02 pm the station was dispatched for the engine and brush truck to assist Station 26 Townsend on a large outside fire in the 100 block of Massey Church Rd.  Brush 45 w/4, Captain Jack Davis and Engine 45-3 w/3, Captain Austin Moorhead arrived to find Townsend units working a fire behind a residence that had extended to a wooded area and small storage structure.  The crew from Brush 45 placed a booster line and forestry line in service.  The crew from 45-3 assisted with the fire in the storage unit.  Command requested the additional engine from the station, Engine 45-2 w/2 Firefighter Skip Demczak responded to assist with water supply.  Command also requested a tanker from Station 44.  Units worked for about an hour to contain and extinguish the fire.  Firefighter Jeff Lightcap from Townsend had the command.  Special Thank You to Hartly for covering our district.  Photo's courtesy Jerry Hull.
