The membership of the Clayton Fire Company is morning the passing of its oldest living member with the passing of Life Member and Past President Walter E. Eierman. Mr. Eierman passed away on todays date at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover after a long illness. Walter joined the company in 1962 and recieved his Life Membership in 1977. Mr. Eierman served the firefighting forces of the company serving as Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief and Deputy Fire Chief. He lead the administrative side of the company as President in 1966, he also held the office of Vice President, Treasurer, Director and Trustee. He was awarded the Fireman of the Year Award in 1965. He was a main stay during the companies Bingo years and was at the firehouse on just about every Friday night working Bingo. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. We ask that you please keep the Eierman family in your thoughts and prayers.
