DAVID ROSS AWARD TURNER/HURLOCK EXCELLIENCE IN TRAINING AWARD
Saturday, December 15, 2018

During the Annual Awards Banquet Firefighter David Ross was awarded the Turner/Hurlock Excellience in Training Award.  This award was created in 2016 to acknowledge the great impact that Life Member James E Turner III and Past Chief Jeffrey Hurlock had on the continued training of our members and to recognize a member each year that strides to better their self and those around them through our training program.  Mr. Turner Passed away this past Christmas while Past Chief is still active in the company. This years award winner was Firefighter Dave Ross.  During 2018 Dave attended 8 in service training and 200 alarms.  Dave's impact on training went well beyond our normal training nights.  Dave can be seen at alarms mentoring the younger members or answering questions they might have about how we operate.  He has been known to come in each morning to check the portable radios, TIC and other equipment on the apparatus above our normal weekly checks to make sure there are no issues and everything is ready to go to work.  The Officers and Members would like to congratulate Dave on his award.  Photo courtesy Gene Shaner.
