Thursday morning at 11:12am the station along with Ladder Company Station 44, Engine Company NCC Station 26 and Tanker KCMD Station 2 were alerted for the residental strucutre fire in the 300 block of Black Stallon Road. Resonding units were advised the caller reported a fire in the heated in the basement. Command 45 w/Assistant Chief Jow Jones arrived quicly and reported an active fire in the basement with a smoke condition throughout the house. The call was upgraded to a working alarm adding Rescue Company KCMD Station 2, Ambulance 64 and KM6. Engine 45-2 w/6, Captain Austin Moorhead arrived secured a water supply and stretched a line. Crews located a fire in the heater in the basement that had extended to the floor on the first floor. The fire was quickly knocked down. Both searches came up negative. Engine 45-3 w/4, Captain Jonathan Burnett also responded. The fire did moderate damage to the floor and the room above the heater on the first floor. The fire is being investigated by the Delaware State Fire Marshalls Office. There were no injuries.
