Wednesday afternoon at 1:10pm the station was dispatched for a large outside fire at the rear of Clayton Court Mobile Home Community. The location is the Town of Claytons old dump which they now used to dispose of yard waste that they pickup throughout town. Command 45 w/Chief Alex Carrow, Brush 45 w/4, Crewleader Dakota Correll and Engine 45-3 w/6, Crewleader Ryan Womax arrived and found a large pile of yard waste (trees, brush, etc) on fire. The crews placed 2 handlines in service and began working on a deep seated fire in the pile. The Town of Clayton responded with one of their front end loaders to the scene to assist on breaking the pile up so that the remaining fire could be extinquished. Chief Carrow requested the additional engine from the station and Tanker 44 to the scene for water supply. Engine 45-2 w/4, Deputy Chief John Pridemore and Tanker 44 w/ Lt. Josh Hall responded. Crews worked for an hour to bring the fire under control. Chief Carrow had the command.
