Satruday evening at 9:47pm the station along with Ladder and Engine 44 were dispatched for the residental structure fire 177 Tracer Dr. in Huntington Mills. Engine 44-4 w/ A/C Robbie Daniels, Ladder 44 w/ Lt. Josh Hall and Squad 53 w/ Chief Joey Marker were on a public service event in Smyrna's first due and responded immediately. Responding units were advised Clayton PD was on scene with an active fire in thegarage. With this information the fire was upgraded to a working alarm adding Rescue and Engine 51, Engione 43, Ambulance 64 and KM5, along with an engine coverup from KCMD Sta 2. The units from the public event in Smyrna arrived to find a 2 story single family residence with an attached garage with smoke showing from the garage area. A line from Squad 53 was stretched for fire attack and a water supply was established. They were followed closely by Engine 45-2 w/6, Past Chief Robert Davis, Quint 45 w/6, A/C Jeff Lightcap and Command 45 w/ Deputy Chief John Pridemore. Crews made quick work of the fire and searches were negative. Command cancelled the units on the upgrade prior to their arrival. The State Fire Marshals office is investigating.
