ENGINE AND LADDER GO TO SMYRNA FOR WORKING HOUSE FIRE

Friday morning at 7:03am Station 44, 45 Ambulance 64 and KM6 were dispatched for the working house fire in the 100 block of Lincoln St.  Quint 45 w/5, Captain Jonathan Burnett and Engine 45-3 w/5, Chief Alex Carrow made the response.  Units arrived to find a 2 story single family dwelling with heavy fire showing.  Crews encoutered heavy fire conditions on both floors with fire extending to the attic.  Several handlines were stretched and the fire was contained to the original structure and brought under control in about 90 minutes.  Units worked for several hours to overhaul the structure.  Assistant Chief Robbie Daniels (44-17) had the command.  The fire is being investigated by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office. Pictures courtesy Jerry Hull, Mike Helmer, Amber Johnson and Gene Shaner.  Units responding; Engines 44-2, 44-3, 45-3, 27-5, 54-5, Ladder 44, Quint 45, Rescue 44, Squad 53, D-64, KM6, FM-28 (Brode), Smyrna PD.  Special thank you to Hartly Vol. Fire Co.
