ENGINE AND LADDER GO TO ODESSA FOR WORKING HOUSE FIRE

Saturday morning at 01:28 the station was dispatched for the engine and ladder to assist Station 4/24 Odessa on a working house fire 150 Front St. in Odessa.  Quint 45 w/6, Assistant Chief Joe Jones and Engine 45-2 w/6, Chief Alex Carrow arrived to find MOT units on scene with several lines in service on a large 2 story single family home with heavy fire on the second floor and attic.  The crew from Quint 45 went to work throwing ladders and opening up for the engine companies, the crew from Engine 45-2 took a line to the second floor for fire attack.  Crews worked for over an hour to bring the fire under control.  Damage was extensive to the residence.  There were no injuries however one K9 perished in the fire.  Assistant Chief Jamie Adams (248B) had the Command.  Companies from Odessa, Middletown, Townsend, Port Penn, Delaware City, Clayton and Smyrna responded along with New Castle County Paramedics.  The fire is being investigated by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.  Pictures couresty Joe Jones and Amber Johnson.
