***UPDATE***
Brush 45 has been placed into service, On Monday April 13, 2020 the fire company placed into service a new Brush Truck to replace one that had been is service since 1995. The details are listed below and updated photos have been added.
In 2019 the Clayton Fire Company decided it was time to replace our brush truck with a new one. The current brush piece is a 1995 Chevy 2500 crew cab, it has served us well. When looking at its replacement the companyh decided that it wanted to purchase a piece of equipment that would not be a one use vehicle. The old brush truck responded on MVC's and some other calls, but was limited as to what it could do. The new brush truck is planned to be a multi use vehicle. It has 250 gallons of water, two hose reels one on each side, and will be equipped with 1 1/2 line. This truck can respond on vehicle fires, structure fires, medical calls, just about anything the company responds to. One issue with the old truck was limited space. It was decided to put a utility body on a Chevy 3500 frame with the 6.6 Liter gas motor. We hope to have the truck in service in April. Once it has been completed we will update the photos.
