Saturday at 13:17 the company along with EMS assets from Ambulance 64, KM6, KM5 and DSP Avation were alerted for a rescue of an injuried subject in a boom lift 30' in the air. Units arrived to find a person who was in a Boom Lift cutting down a tree that had become injuried when the tree trunk kicked back and landed on him inside the basket injurying him and making the boom lift unoperable. Command requested a 100' aerial to respond, Sta 44 was alerted as well as Tower 43 who had a crew in their station. The crew from Q-45 was able to position the truck in the front yard of the residence and close enough that it was able to reach the basket of the Boom Lift. The vicitim had upper body injuries from the tree. The victim was stabilized and then moved from the basket onto the tip of the ladder and lowed to the ground where he was turned over to EMS for transport to a medical facility.
