ENGINE COMPANY GOES TO TOWNSEND FOR BARN FIRE

Sunday morning December 6th at 6:39am the station was alerted as part of the 1st alarm for a barn fire in the 200 block of Ratledge Road.  Engine 45 w/6, Lt. Brian Hunter and Squad 45 w/6, Chief Alex Carrow arrived to find Townend units with 2 lines in service on a large horse stable.  The crews from the engine company assisted with extinquishment and over haul while Engine 45 shuttled water to the scene.  The crews worked for over 2 hours bringing the fire under control and completing overhaul.  Units responded from Townsend, MIddletown, Odessa, Port Penn, Clayton and Smyrna along with EMS assests.  Photo's courtesy Alex Carrow.
