LADDER, ENGINE AND SQUAD GO TO HARTLY FOR HOUSE FIRE

Saturday afternoon at 1:33pm the station was dispatched for the Ladder and engine along with Engine and Tanker 56 to assist Station 51 on a residental structure fire in the 1600 block of Fords Corner Road.  Quint 45 w/4, Assistant Chief Robbie Johnson, Engine 45 w/5, Deputy Chief Jeff Lightcap and Squad 45 w/4, Chief John Pridemore arrived to find Hartly units with 2 lines in service on a 2 story family dwelling with fire from the roof and on the secodn floor and attack.  The crew from Quint 45 completed the searches, threw ground ladders and went to the roof while the crew from Engine 45 went to the second floor and helped to open up for the engine companies.  Squad 45 was assigned the RIT.  the fire was brought under control in about 40 minutes.  The fire is being investigated by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.  Assistant Chief Ray Morris from Hartly had the command.  Townsend Squad 26 covered Station 45 while our units were committed on the call.  Units responding;  Command 51, Engines, 51-2, 51-3, 45, 43-3, Quint 45, Squads 45 & 56, Tankers 51 & 56, Rescue 51, Light & Air 51, Brush 51, B-51, D-64, KM5A, KM7A, FM-15 (Sipple).  Photo's courtesy Joe Jones
