FIRST DUE STRUCTURE FIRE IN PROVIDENCE CROSSING

Sunday evening just as the annual July 4th Fireworks show had ended Clayton along with Ladder and Engine 44 were dispatched for the house fire at Snow Branch Dr. and Delaware River Dr.  With crews still in the station including Engine 51 from Hartly units quickly responded.  Command 45 w/Captain Alex Carrow arrived to find a 2 story single family dwelling with a fire on the exterior wall on the Delta side that had been knocked down by a neighbor.  Engine 45 w/6, Captain Brian Hunter, Squad 45 w/5, Deputy Chief Jeff Lightcap, Engine 51, Squad 53 together.  Egine 45 secured the water supply and stretched the handline, Squad 45 had the 2nd due Engine, while Engine 51 took the 3rd Due Engine, Squad 53 took the RIT, Ladder 44 had the 1st due special services.  Engine 44 staged on Delaware River Drive.  Crews wet down the fire area, checked for extension and handled the searches.  The fire was contained to the exterior of the house and is being investigated by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office.  Photo courtesy Alex Carrow.  Units responding;  Command 45, Engine 45, Squad 45, Engine 51-3, Squad 53, Ladder 44, Engine 44-3, FM-2.
