AMERICA TO REMEMBER THOSE KILLED DURING THE ATTACK ON OUR COUNTRY ON 9/11/01
Friday, September 10, 2021

It's been 20 years since the deadly attacks on our country on September 11, 2001. On that day close to 3000 people died when planes were flown into both buildings at the World Trade Center in New York City, into the Pentagon in Washington DC and crashed into a field in Shanksville Pa.  In New York City alone 400 First Responder members lost their lives.  Of those 400 First responders 343 were members of the FDNY.  Once again this year the members of the Clayton Fire Co. will join other area First Responders at the annual Smyrna/Clayton 9/11 Memorial Service with is held each year in front of the Citizens Hose Co. of Smyrna's fire station.  The service begins at 7pm and is open to the public.  This year also we are marking the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 by placing a wreath on the monument in front of our fire station in rememberance of all those who lost their lives on that day but especialy the First Responders.  We ask that you please take a few moments on 9/11 to remember those that were lost on that day.
