Under a bright sunny sky a crowd estimated at over 1200 first responders and the public, which include Governor John Carney, Lt. Govenor Bethaney-Hall Long and other elected officals attended the services for Fire Chief John M. Pridemore who died in the line of duty on Tuesday March 8, 2022 after a long fall in the station the day before. A visitation was held prior to the Memorial Service from 10am til 12 noon. During the Visitation a Masonic Service was also held at 11am. During Chief Pridemore's Memorial Service several family members, the Mayor of Clayton and members of the department spoke about Chief Pridemore. A combined Pipe and Drum played Amazing Grace followed by the 5-5-5 tolling of the bell, a presentation to the family was made by the fire department to Chief Pridemore's wife Kim and children Amanda and Michael. Finally the Last Alarm was sounded for Chief Pridemore. Our department had just over 125 members attend the visitation and service. The Officers and Members of the Clayton Fire Company would like to thank everyone who attended or sent their sympathy. Chief Pridemore's burial was private with the family.
