Wednesday evening the Rescue responded to back to back MVC's with entrapment in Station 44's local.
The first accident occurred at 8:46pm and occurred at Blackbird Greenspring Rd & Clark Farm Rd north of Smyrna. Rescue 44 w/4 arrived with Station 44 units to find a vehicle on its side with a subject trapped inside. Crews worked for about 15 minutes to free the occupant who was transported to a local medical facility for further treatment. Chief Johnson from Sta 44 had the command. The second accident occurred 2 hours later at 10:45pm and was located t at the intersection of N Dupont Blvd & E Mt. Vernon St. in Smyrna. Rescue 45 w/5, arrived with Station 44 units to find a 2 vehicle accident with 2 subjects trapped. The accident was the result of a vehicle refusing to stop for a Smyrna PD Officeer. The fleeing vehicle struck a second Smyrna PD police car that was parked on the shoulder of Rt13 with prisoner in the rear seat. Crews worked for about 20 minutes to free the police officer and the driver of the striking vehicle. EMS transported 4 subjects to a local medical facility for further treatment.
