Saturday afternoon at 3:28pm the station along with Engine and Ladder 44 were dispatched for the house fire 500 Block of Coldwater Drive in Providence Crossing. With a crew in the station Engine 45 w/5, Captain Brian Hunter and Command 45 w/Asst. Chief Alex carrow responded in 2 minutes. They were followed by Quint 45 w/4, Past Chief Jeff Hurlock, Squad 45 with FF Mike Thompson, Ladder 44 and Engine 44-3. Responding units were advised the caller reported the mulch at the front of the residence was on fire with possible extension into the residence but they believed they had it out. Command 45 aarived to find a 2 story SFD with nothing evident. Engine 45 took the FDE establishing a water supply and stretching a handline while Quint 45 and L44 took the FDS and SDS. Crew located fire that had extended into the residence causing minor damage. The ladder company's handled the searches and opened up for the engine company. Squad 45 took the SDe while Engine 44-3 handled the 3rd Due Engine. The fire caused minor damage to the house. The Delaware State Fire Marhsal is investigating. Asst.
