Sunday evening at 8:22pm Station 45 along with Ambulance 64 and KM6 were dispatched to assist Station 44 with the working house fire at 16 Annie Gillis Ln in the Towne and Country Development. The police arrived prior to fire units and reported heavy fire showing from the garage area with exposures to the neighbors residence. Smyrna & Clayton units arrived together, secured a water supply and place several handlines inservice for fire attack and exposure protection. The fire had extended into the main portion of the residence causing extensive damage to the home. Truck companies performed searches, ventilation and opened up for the engine companies. Station 43 had a staffed engine in their station and also responded along with Tower 43. The fire was brought under control in about an hour. There were no injuries. The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating and the Red Cross was requested for the families needs. Captain Brian Furgeson had the Smyrna Command.
