Thursday night at 11:53pm Command 45, Engine 45, Squad 45 and Tower 45 along with Squad 53 and Tanker 53 and EMS assets from Ambulance 64 and KM6 were dispatched to assist Station 44 Citizens Hose Co. on the working house fire at 136 Smyrna Landing Road. EMS arrived just ahead of the fire units and reported a house fully involved. Engine 45 w/4, Squad 45 w/4 and Tower 45 w/4 made the response. Crews arrived to find a 2 story single family dwelling with heavy fire throughout the structure along with a deteached garage involved. Tower 45 took the 1st Due Special service, their crew set the tower up for the master stream , Engine 45 took the 2nd due engine assignment and stretched a 2nd handline to the charlie side of structure for exposure protection and fire attack. Squad 45 had the 3rd due engine and established a water supply from Engine 45 to Tower 45. Crews worked for about an hour before bringing the fire under control. The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating. This was the 4th working house fire in Smyrna's local in a week. Assistant Chief Isaac Hankins had the Smyrna Command.
