MEMBERS RECOGNIZED FOR CPR SAVE FROM CHRISTMAS DAY 2022
Wednesday, May 24, 2023

Last evening, Kent County Department of Public Safety held its first ever Cardiac Survivors Ceremony.  This ceremony is meant to honor individuals who played a role in the successful resuscitation after a cardiac arrest.

Early on Christmas morning of 2022 the Clayton Fire Company was dispatched along with American Legion Ambulance Service Station 64 Inc., Kent County Department of Public Safety Paramedics, and the Clayton Police Department for a Cardiac Arrest.  When units arrived they found a male subject in cardiac arrest and resuscitation effort began on the individual.  Because of the actions of the members as who responded on the call as well as the other resources mentioned the individual was able to walk out of the hospital a few days later.

Clayton Fire Company Members honored:
Fire Chief Austin Moorhead
Deputy Chief Jeff Lightcap
Crew Leader Gilbert McClements
