Tuesday evening at 5:20pm the station along with Ambulance 64 were dispatched to the auto accident with injuries on Wheatleys Pond Rd at S Rodney St. Responding units were advised there were sevral cars involved with injuries and that one vehicle had been reported on fire but was extinquished by a passerby. Rescue 45, Squad 45, Chief Moorhead and A & B 64 arrived to find a multi car accident. Crews from the Rescue and Squad secured the vehicles and fluids leaking from them while BLS units began patient care. Command requested ALS and a 3rd BLS unit to the scene sending KM6 and A-43. Both 64 units transported occupants to Bayhealth Kent one with half of KM6 on board. Chief Moorhead had the Clayton Command. The roadway was closed in both directions for a period of time. Earlier in the day around noon the station responded to a brush fire along the railroad tracks in the 200 Block of N Bassett St. Crews arrived to find an area of brush burninnng and spreading rappedly due to the wind. Crews where able to contain the fire which burned an area approximately 250' by 60' in about 15 minutes. The fire was caused by an electrical issue on a nearby telephone pole. Units responding; 45-15, Brush 45, Squad 45, Engine 45, Sta 45 Fire Police, Clayton PD, Clayton electric and DP&L.
