Firday evening at 9:41 pm the station along with Ladder Company 44, Tanker Company 51 and KCMD 2 and EMS assets were dispatched for the barn fire in the 900 Blk of Blackiston's Church Road. Responding units were advised a firefighter that lived in the area was on scene with heavy fire showing. Engine 45 and Command 45 arrived together and found a 120'x40' machine workshop with heavy fire throughout. Engine 45 established a water supply point and stretched a handline. Tower 45 and Ladder 44 arrived and had the 1st and 2nd Due Special Services and began opeing up for the engine companies. Tanker 51 had the 2nd due engine and established a nurse tanker operation for Engine 45. Due to the area of the fire being a none hydranted area Command requested the Tanker Task Force bringing Tankers 44, 53, QACMD 6 and NCC 24. Kent County Md Engine 2 had the 3rd Due Engine and stretched several handlines, Tanker 44 supplied the 3rd due engine. Additional resources arrived and assisted with water supply and manpower. A water schuttle was established to bring additional water to the scene. The fire was brought under control in just over an hour. Deputy Chief Lightcap had the Clayton Command. The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating. Engine 43-2 and Ladder 46-2 covered Station 45 while Engine 24 and Tanker 55 covered Station 44. There were no reported injuries.
