On Wednesday April 24, 2024 the Clayton Fire Company assisted the Citizen's Hose Company of Smyrna with tractor trailer on fire in the area of mile marker 69. The Squad and Rescue were dispatched to assist Engine 44-2 and Tanker 44. In addition Smyrna was handling a reported serious accident approx. a mile North of the fire location. Engine 45 was also dispatched for manpower and extra water if needed. Crews from Clayton assisted in overhaul and the Squad remained on scene to standby with Engine 44-2 after the Tanker was released. During this time Clayton had a traumatic injury of a Lacrosse player that was flown from the FIrst State Military Academy. In addition a few ambulance runs were covered in the Smyrna Clayton area.
