During the monthly June meeting of the Clayton Fire Company regular member Reaghan King was presented with a one time scholarship of $1,000 to assist with expenses while attending the United States Military Academy at West Point. The funding for this scholarship came from 2 places. In December of 2022 life member Ron Augustine passed away and the community donated money in his memory, his widow Katy wanted to do something to honor Ron, so she approached the company with the idea to present Reaghan with the scholarship and she funded the difference. It was learned by the company that an appointment to West Point does not include everything, there are expenses that the appointee is expected to cover. Reaghan lost her father earlier this year to a heart attack. Jim was a veteran and was very proud of Reaghan’ s appointment to West Point. Present with Reaghan is her mom Kate and Sister Rebecca.
