During the monthly June meeting of the Clayton Fire Company associate member Kayleigh Reed was presented with the Linda Lightcap Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Kayleigh is the daughter of Clayton Director Julie Kelchner and attends Delaware Tech studying radiology and will transfer to Chesapeake College in the fall to continue her studies. The award is presented in honor of Linda Lightcap a very active member of the Clayton Ladies Auxiliary who passed away several years ago. Linda was the wife of Clayton Past President and past president of the State Fire Police Association Robert L. Lightcap, and the mother of Clayton Past Chief Jeff Lightcap and Ladies member Sharon Staats, her granddaughter Linda is a member of the Clayton Ladies. The award was presented by scholarship committee chairperson Leslie Pope.
