Fire company members seldom receive thanks for the job they do, and we never ask for it. When someone wants to say thank you, we will certainly allow them to attend a meeting to thank a member. During the October company meeting Ken Abbott attend the meeting to thank Clayton Firefighter James Demczak and his friend for stopping at the scene of his motorcycle accident on US 13 South of Smyrna on September 2, 2024. James a firefighter/EMT with Clayton and his friend Amanda Allison stopped at the scene and assisted Mr. Abbott thill first responders arrived and he was transported to Christiana Trauma Center, they provided comfort, assessment, and limited treatment. Mr. Abbott just wanted to say thank you for caring enough to stop and take care of a stranger. That is what we do every day and to have someone say thank you it makes he job that much better. Thank you, Mr. Abbott, for caring enough to return the favor.
