On November 27, 2024, the company was dispatched to a large outside fire at 207 Seldon Drive Greene Hill Farm Estates with smoke coming from storm drains along the street. Upon units arriving they checked the area with thermal imaging cameras inside the pipes but could not locate the fire. R-45 and crew were sent to the retention pond where they discovered a pile of wood and debris next to the drain entrance burning filling the storm drains with smoke. Cadet Adian Sacco was able to control the fire with a water can making it the first fire he was able to extinguish without assistance. Cadet Sacco comes from a large fire service family. His grandfather Frank started his career with the Claymont Fire Company then moving to the Christiana Fire Company, his grandmother is an association member of Clayton, his uncle Frank Jr. and his aunt Amber are Clayton members, and his father is a Captain with Clayton. Adien has some big shoes to fill but is doing a fine job.
