Sunday morning 1/19 @ 11:51 Clayton along with engine and tanker from Citizens Hose Co. of Smyrna, engine and tanker from Townsend Vol. Fire Co., ladder tower from Volunteer Hose Co. of Middletown, engine and tanker from the Communty Fire Co. of Millington Md. and EMS units form the American Legion Ambulance and Kent County Paramedics responded to a chicken house fire in the 1200 block of Deer Antler Rd. Units arrived to find a 500'x50' chicken house with smoke showing from the entire length. Crews placed 3 handlines in service and brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Crews remaind on scene for an additional hour checking for extension and overhauling the area. There were no injuries. The Delaware State Fire Marshals Office is investigating.
